Program Supervisor / Teacher 3’s Program
As a registered early childhood educator, I have been contributing to the growth and development of young children for over 30 years. I have a wide range of experience in many aspects in the field and cherish being a part of the SCNS family. I value the uniqueness of each child and am honoured to share in their early years experiences. As a mother of three children I have gained valuable insight and understanding of the joys and challenges of parenthood. I strongly believe that children are innately competent, curious and capable. I use basic sign language, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), visual schedules and many other techniques to enhance an inclusive learning environment which benefits children and their families. I am a passionate teacher and truly enjoy bringing out the potential of each child through a mutual love for play and friendship.

I am very excited to be a part of the SCNS program! I graduated from Algonquin college in 2003 and have worked in the field of ECE since then. I have worked in a variety of daycare settings from preschool programs to most recently an infant program. I also successfully ran my home daycare for nine years while I stayed home with my three children. I thoroughly enjoy taking courses and webinars and learning about new learning approaches and research studies. We are a military family and we are very excited about being back in the Ottawa area again! We live in the community so it is wonderful to be able to work in this wonderful area as well.

Teacher 2’s Program
I am very excited to be part of the SCNS team. I have worked in the childcare field since graduating in 2000. I started out as a teacher in a school age program and progressed to be the Supervisor in 2004 until I took a break to raise my family in 2010. I have two beautiful children who are now in school full time so it was time to join the ECE field once again. I believe that Early Childhood Education is the beginning to it all. Young children are like sponges and can soak up so much knowledge. I love to be a small part of their journey to becoming the person they will be. To see the light in their eyes when they understand a new concept or idea that I am trying to teach them is truly what makes my day. I look forward to working with everyone here at SCNS and together enriching all of the children’s lives.

I love working with children and I am so glad to be part of their learning journey. I joined the team at SCNS in 2018 as a Program Assistant and I am thrilled to now be a teacher in the 3 year old program. I have a BA in Psychology from Carleton University and graduated from Algonquin College in 2005 as an Early Childhood Educator. I taught in the field for 6 years before deciding to stay home with my 3 children. I love learning and participating in training opportunities both as an RECE and my volunteer work with Girl Guides of Canada. I hope to challenge your child to try new things and to work with you to help them reach their full potential.
Stefanie Papineau
Business Manager
My journey with SCNS began when I enrolled my two children in the program in 2003 and 2004. Very quickly and easily, I fell in love with the aspect of being a parent volunteer and participating in their first school experience. I looked forward to volunteering anywhere I could and ended up finding my place on the Executive Team for four years. This involvement allowed me to develop an in depth understanding of the school as a business. As my children moved onto “big school” I found myself contemplating my next mission. I was offered a job, as the Business Manager, and jumped at the chance to work at SCNS and share its history with everyone. I truly enjoy working with the parents, children and teachers who make our nursery school feel like a family!
